What’s been going on this week at Durham Amnesty?

The meeting:

Sophie gave us a presentation about the civil war currently going on in Yemen, and how the UK is implicated in that war through its sale of arms to Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia is using UK made arms during air strikes on Yemen, which are killing thousands of civilians.

Amnesty is putting pressure on the foreign secretary, Boris Johnson, to halt the sale of arms to Saudi Arabia.

The action:

Join the online petition here and make your voice heard about this issue.

Other things:

  • Last term we had an action for Amnesty’s Stand Against Hate campaign. Phoebe made a great video about it which you can see here.

  • The Amnesty pub quiz on Monday was a great success – lovely to see so many of you there!
